Ideal for couples, families and art lovers looking for a creative and very personal experience.

Private sessions · Very small groups · For all levels

Why is this experience special?

This is not a mass activity or an improvised workshop. It’s an experience designed so that you feel truly welcome in the studio, forget about the clock and enjoy the pleasure of creating with your hands.

  • Master potter with many years of experience, guiding you closely and personally.
  • Very small groups: the experience is conceived almost like a private class, for just a few people.
  • A calm, authentic setting in one of the areas with the strongest craft traditions on the Costa Brava.
  • A creative and sensory experience: the feel of the clay, the rhythm of the wheel, the concentration and calm.
  • The perfect way to remember your trip – and to take home a piece you created yourself.
A creative pause in Empordà

For a few hours, you leave stress and noise behind, step into the studio, listen to the silence and the sound of the wheel, and focus only on the clay changing shape between your hands.

It’s a different way to discover the Costa Brava: from inside a traditional craft, with time and authenticity.

What does the ceramic experience involve?

For a few hours, you become part of the studio and take on the role of pottery apprentice. The master will guide you step by step so you can enjoy every moment.

1. Welcome and studio introduction

You’ll get to know the space, the tools and some of the pieces that are created there. The master potter will briefly explain the ceramic process: from clay to kiln.

2. Introduction to clay and technique

You’ll learn how to prepare the clay, how to centre it on the wheel and how to position your body so you can work comfortably while you create.

3. Working on the pottery wheel

With the master’s support, you’ll create your own piece:

  • you’ll learn how to pull the walls up,
  • shape and open the clay,
  • and recognise the moment when the clay “says enough”.

It’s physical work but also very meditative: the wheel, the clay and you.

4. Details, finishing and personal touch

You’ll give the piece your own personal touch: shape, small details, texture… always with expert advice from the master.

5. What happens to the piece once it’s finished?

The master will explain how drying, firing and glazing work. Depending on what you decide together, the piece can:

  • stay in the studio as a memory of your time in Peratallada, or
  • be prepared and sent to you once it has been fired (according to conditions, shipping costs from €3).

What our guests say

An unforgettable experience in Baix Empordà. I went with my partner and, even though we had no previous experience, we managed to make some beautiful bowls thanks to the help of four hands.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need previous experience with ceramics?

No. The experience is designed so that anyone can take part, even if it’s the very first time you touch clay. The master will be with you at every step.

What should I wear?

We recommend comfortable clothes that can get a bit dirty, ideally with short sleeves or sleeves you can roll up easily. Comfortable footwear is also a good idea.

Can children join the workshop?

Yes, as long as they are accompanied by adults and old enough to follow instructions and work with the clay with a bit of independence. If you’re not sure, just ask us.

Which languages is the workshop available in?

The workshop can be held in Catalan and Spanish. We can also offer sessions in English, French, Danish or German – contact us to check availability.

Can I take my piece home the same day?

Ceramics need time to dry and one or more firings. Depending on what you decide, pieces can stay in the studio as a memory, be collected later or be shipped to you (shipping costs apply).

What if I need to change or cancel my booking?

If you need to change or cancel, please contact us as soon as possible. We’ll let you know the current change and cancellation policy at the time of booking.
